Feedback
You project should change, grow, and improve at every stage of the competition.
Our ability to give and receive feedback is essential to learning and growing. Here's a model to consider. It's called "WOW." When anyone gives you feedback think, "Wow how nice of them to think of me." Then ask:
W What's the feedback?
O Own up to what is valid.
W What's next?
Here are some basic principles of receiving feedback:
1. listen
2. acknowledge the speaker
3. take their comments seriously-- like a gift
4. be empathetic to the position of the speaker
5. own up
6. maintain positive and open body language
7. keep eye contact with the speaker
8. be gracious
